Greetings from France
March 24, 2022
This is a mini-newsletter, more of an announcement really. I am writing from the Moulin à Nef, a residency in Auvillar, France, in the Garonne region just west of Toulouse. The term "moulin à nef" does not refer to the windmill pictured here, which sits on a high plain outside the village, but rather to the boats that used to troll the Garonne, using the river's current to propel the mills they kept on board -- thus the moulin à nef, or windmill under sail.
I have posted a few short videos and photos of the journey thus far here. The videos are from the incomparable Atelier des Lumières, an immersion project in the 11th arrondissement in Paris, where the latest installation features the work of Cézanne and Kandinsky. The photos are of both Paris and the village of Auvillar, including the "petit canal" where I have gone biking.
But the real reason for this mini-newsletter is to tell everyone about the short reading I will be doing online tomorrow, Saturday, March 26, at 1:00 pm, as part of the Spring Reading Series sponsored by Wandering Aengus Press during the Associated Writing Programs conference. I'll be reading a selection from my forthcoming collection, Meditations for a New Century. More details are on my Events page, and here is the announcement and link from Wandering Aengus:
